Krishna Janmashtami is a festival of Hindus. janmashtami is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Krishna. he is considered as an avatar of the god Vishnu the festival celebration takes place on the eight days of the dark fortnight of the month of Shravan as per Hindu calendar. Janmashtami also was known as Shree Krishan Jayanti, Gokul Ashtami, Krishna Ashtami etc. Lord Krishna was born in Mathura. Gokul & Vrindavan was his playground.


janmashtami knew in Mumbai & Pune as "dahi handi". it brings much joy & feeling of unity. Janmashtami is celebrated as an event involves making a human pyramid & breaking a handi filled with buttermilk, which is tied at a convenient height. temples of Shree Krishna are beautifully decorated. on this day, Krishna is worshipped as Bal Gopal Krishna. the celebration of Janmashtami begins at midnight by bathing the idol of Lord Krishna with panchamrit. thousands of Hindu & women wear new clothes & gather in these temples to gather in these temples to celebrate the birthday of their beloved god. it is celebrated with enormous zeal & enthusiasm. this festival is very popular among kids. religious plays or Casillas are performed to recreate event form the life of Lord Krishna. the birth of Lord Krishna marks the end of inhumanity & cruelty over mankind.

krishan is a symbol of righteousness. Kansh, the uncle of Krishna was a cruel & unholy king. krishna saved the people from the oppression of kansh. on the day of janmashtami, people perform special poojas, keep fast, sing bhajans etc. krishna Janmashtami is a festivals of great joy for devotees and they wait for this festival eagerly.
