Why Is Shivratri Celebrated - Vasant Panchami 


Vasant Panchami is a famous festival of Hindus. Vasant Panchami is also known as also known as Shree Panchami. according to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated every year on the fifth day of Magh month which falls between January and February. Vasant Panchami is also known as Saraswati Puja, as the goddess of knowledge Devi Saraswati is worshipped on this day. on the day of Basant Panchami, the goddess Saraswati Devi was born. Vasant Panchami is a symbol of the end of the winter season and the arrival of spring season. this time the weather becomes very pleasant. this time there is on more cold or no more heat. Vasant Panchami comes in such favourable weather. yellow colour has a great significance in the celebration of Basant Panchami. in this festival, the kids are taught to write their first words according to the Hindu custom. in every educational institution, Saraswati puja is organized by the students.

month brings lots of happiness & also brings spring season. in these 2-3 months, we Indians celebrate many festivals such as Makar Sankranti, Vasant Panchami, ram namvi & holi. 
maha Shivratri is such a big festival which is celebrated between February & march. maha Shivratri is one of the most famous festivals of India. mahashivrtri. it is the festival celebrated the marriage of Lord Shiva & goddess Parvati. it is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over India Shiva temples are decorated very well on the day of Maha Shivratri. the festival is celebrated on a grand scale. thousands of land shiva devotees go to Shiva temple. people wait in long queues outside Shiva temples to worship Lord, Shiva. the devotees chant the mantra "om Nahma Shivaya". religious songs & mantras are held. leaves of bael tree are also offered on this day, the devotees perform the various ritual by doing rudrakhsh & pour water & milk over the Shiva lingam. shiva devotees observe fast through the day & night. shivaratri is the perfect night to pray to bhole Nath & achieve mukti.

Navaratri festival is a popular Hindu festival in India. navratri is a very important Hindu festival & celebrated all over the country. nav means nine & Ratri means night. the festival is celebrated over a period of 9 nights & 10 days. in Navratri, people gather in groups to perform the dandiya & Garba dance. the dandiya sticks of various colours are used. idol of goddess Durga is worshipped during Navratri. people pray to goddess Durga to destroy the evil during Navratri. navratri has been always my favourite festival beacuse I use to get a chance to dance all night for 9 days with my friends. for the festival of Navratri, people purchase a traditional dress for all 9 nights & dance with different styles in a circle where goddess Durga has been placed. during these days Navratri songs are played in various place in the Indian street to celebrated the festival. ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Morbi, Bharuch & kutch are some popular destination in Gujrat were special Navratri events are organised every year. festival of Navratri is full of lights, joy & festivity. many devote fast for the entire 9 days during the festival. 
people stay awake the whole night during the nine days of Navratri & play dandy & garbage. Navaratri festival is celebrated in the month of October/november.the last day of this festival is celebrated as 'Vijay dashmi' Dussehra the day when lord 'rama' won over 'ravana' according to ramayana.
